Caroline Moricot

Associate professor of sociology

Caroline Moricot is an associate professor in sociology accredited to supervise research, and member of the Centre d'Étude des Techniques, de Connaissances et des Pratiques (CETCOPRA). She teaches general sociology, sociology of contemporary techniques, and anthropology of techniques and of the body. She has studied issues related to the appropriation of automated sequences, drawing upon civilian and military aeronautics research. At present her focus is on the question of corporal presence in remote action, based on the uses of robotic surgery and military drones. She founded the working group on Corps, techniques et société of the Association Française de Sociologie, and is chief editor of the journal Socio-Anthropologie published by Éditions de la Sorbonne.
